This is my Grandfather next to his airplane. I remember Grandpa kept one of his planes at home in the back yard while he rebuilt it. My Grand parents lived just a few blocks from the Glendale Airport. Knowing Grandpa, he probably towed the plane to the airport under the cover of darkness early one morning. I remember standing on the front porch and watching airplanes take off from the Glendale Airport around 1952.
